My top 5 poses for couples

Hey! Today I wanted to share my top 5 favorite poses that I like to do with my couples. There are so many poses out there that sometimes it’s overwhelming to think in the moment which one to do next. To solve this problem, I made a list of my 5 favorite poses that I like to start with and that every couple looks good doing. Once I get my couples comfortable in front of the camera, the rest of the posing come naturally. Now let’s get on with the poses!

1. Walk and Bump Hips

This pose is exactly as it’s named. I tell my clients to walk towards me and bump hips, laugh, and stare at each other as they do so. I like this pose because it get my clients moving and laughing and it makes their photos more interesting. You also get that “candid” moment when doing this pose. Every couple loves this because it’s so spontaneous and no one really knows 100% what they are doing, which makes it even more fun. Here’s a few of my favorite photos from this pose.

2. Hug your girl from behind.

This is one of those poses that I like to do at the beginning just because it always turns out so cute. I also love this pose, because there are so many different ways to photograph each couple. Some guys get nice and cuddly, some kiss their girl on the forehead, some pick their girl up and spin her around. I mean, I could go on forever with all the different angles. Here’re some examples!

3. Walk and look at each other

This is another one of those staple photos you need of everybody. Just walk, holding hands and looking at each other. You could even have them lean in for a kiss at the end. Its also another one of those poses that you can turn into a million other poses.

4. Twirling or spinning

This pose is a must for my clients. In my opinion, it’s a timeless photo and a fun one to repeat over the years.

5. Let’s play airplane

Finally, one of the funnest pose I do with my clients. I tell my clients to link line up, hold hands and “play airplane” or titanic as they walk towards me. This pose always brings out laughter and big smiles and we, again, get that candid aspect.
